Lake Nakuru Safari

Friends! We went on a safari in Lake Nakuru (a flamingo-filled lake) in central Kenya last weekend and saw all kinds of wild beasts. We camped in the rain because Laura insisted.

Lots of baboon sex of course....

...and lions hunting gazelle right next to our car.

Apparently, we 've come to Kenya in the rainy season...so the camping was wet...but dramatic skies:

...and, one fat hippo.

Duuuuude... that baboon's penis is really weird looking, but that shot of the zebras in the foreground with the flamingos behind is AMAZING! That looks so awesome!

Eric, James and I played soccer on the mall yesterday... Brian, you would have definitely enjoyed. The Warriors are in the playoffs for the first time in fifteen years! Crazy. Although, they lost last night. Laura, I missed the new Real World episode because I was too busy watching sports, you would have been really disappointed, but speaking of which, I watched the Red Sox go back-to-back-to-back-to-back on Sunday night, Brian did you hear about this??? For only the fifth time in history, Ramirez, Drew, Lowell, and 'Tek connected for four consecutive homeruns off a rookie Yankees pitcher (he was sent back down to the minors the next day). Weirdly enough, the last time there were back-to-back-to-back-to-back homeruns, was last year for the Dodgers! And JD Drew also hit the second home run in that sequence!!!!!!!!!!! Weird.

I changed the time stamp on the blog entries to East Africa time, I hope that's your time zone. If not, at least it's a little closer than Pacific Coast time. Wordup.

mista codaayy - thanks for setting up the blog -- it's incredibly fun. we're going to lamu for the weekend and will return with more pics to make all jealous.

the soccer on the mall sounds great. sorry to be missing the spring in dc, but can't complain here.

i have more baboon sex pictures if anyone wants them. they "do it" in about 5 seconds.

I'm noticing two key items:
1. Laura's sunglasses. AMAZING. Gucci?
2. Brian's beard. Working from home is the good life, eh? You still showering?

Q: Are albino zebras just horses?

Please conduct research and let me know the answer. Hope you guys are having an amazing time! Keep posting more hot baboon on baboon action. That's the reason Al Gore invented the Internet.

Re: Baer and Dizzle's comments on the shades. let's just say, we arrived at Heathrow at the equivalent of 4am DC time, at which point I proceeded to purchase said shades in a somewhat compromised state of judgement. That said, I think they help me blend with the neon-oriented style that is all the rage in Nairobi, and will be prominently featured in all future posts.

Re: Cody's comment on the Real World, iTunes episodes take about 12-15 hrs each to download here, but that hasn't prevented me from keeping up with a few key programs (the finest of E!, NBC, and MTV), so I will queue it up and we can have a Real World symposium next week...
